Ericka & Devon are expecting their little girl to make her big arrival this fall, and we had the best time photographing their bump session! Ericka and Devon met us in late July for their shoot, and Ericka wore a gorgeous emerald green dress to show off her little bump. Sadly, we were met with the craziest pop-up summer thunderstorm during our session. We took as many photos as we could before the skies got just a bit too dark for comfort, and we called the session off. We got in our cars just in time before it started pouring down rain! We met back up again in early August for a bare bump belly shoot to make up for the time we had missed during their first session. The weather in August gave us a phenomenal sunset during the August shoot, and we love how we ended up with two beautiful different looks all in the same location!

Sweet summertime! It was so amazing to see one of our past wedding clients come back for an extended family session, this time with their adorable baby girl. It was fun to show their flower girl and niece photos of herself from their wedding, and see how much she had grown - now with not one, but two little sisters of her own! We love when the grandparents come along too and get to be in the photos with their kids and grands. It’s so special to capture those playful moments.

It’s so fun to grow alongside our clients. We love how our schedule is filling up more and more with newborn shoots scheduled by our wedding clients! It was the best receiving an email from Emily that they were expecting! We absolute adore this couple and their love story!

Starting this week off right with photos of some of the cutest kids ever! I have been photographing this sweet family since their oldest child was ONE. Look at James now! Oh, my heart! I love seeing these babies grow each year and this year, their family grew by one more when they welcomed Ulton!

We photographed Athena & Sean’s engagement photos and then their wedding photos a couple of years ago and were so excited when they reached out to let us know they were now expecting a baby boy! Growing with our clients is the absolute best.

Athena and Sean still live out of state, but they drove in to town Mother’s Day weekend to visit with their families who threw them a baby shower! They had such a whirlwind of a weekend and still woke up on Mother’s Day bright and early for a sunrise maternity session with us before heading back home.

This photo session had been in the works for several months! One of our long-time clients reached out to see if I would travel for a big family photo session with her siblings, their kids, and her parents. They gifted this shoot to their parents for Christmas and planned it for the Spring.

It’s clear that these siblings and cousins get together quite often and have a rowdy time! There was no way were going to keep the attention of these kiddos for long, so we snapped the stand & smile at the camera shots first thing; then we embrace the chaos and let them be little! Letting the kids run and play is where the magical moments and emotion always happen.

I strive for our clients to have photos that are timeless and that will be cherished forever. As a wedding photographer, I feel like we have this down. As a newborn photographer, I’m always questioning what that means. As we started taking on newborns over this past year, I am constantly questioning and comparing to other photographers. It’s a niche I once said Story Told would never touch because there are so many photographers out there making “perfect” newborn photos. My niche was weddings, but as more and more of my clients made the request, we decided to take the plunge and approach newborn photography like we do wedding photography... our style is a little mix of documentary and easy, natural posing.

Brandie & Travis welcomed sweet teeny tiny Ellie Grace last month! Brandie was on the fence about newborn photos, but after staring at her little girl and seeing how quickly she was growing, she decided it was necessary!

Hey mamas… Planning for photos a few days after giving birth is sometimes just far too much to think about. There is nothing wrong with waiting a few weeks for photos to just be at home, settling in to your new normal. If you need time to just be, don’t beat yourself up! We can almost always adjust to a different date if you plan earlier than you’re ready for. More and more of our clients are choosing to do lifestyle photos around three weeks, and we think that’s perfect.

It was so good to see Courtney & Andy again as they prepare for baby #2! We shot their engagement photos, wedding photos, & baby #1 maternity photos and it was the best to get an email from Courtney letting us know they were expecting again!

If you follow us on social, you’ll know that while we were planning for some winter maternity photos with Courtney & Andy… but we weren’t planning for them quite this early. When we got hit with a snow storm last Sunday, Courtney asked if we had time to do photos in the snow. We jumped at the opportunity for photos of this sweet couple in the winter wonderland!

Brandie & Travis! From engagement photos, to wedding photos, and now to a baby on the way… I was so thrilled to get an email from Brandie letting me know they were expecting! When I pulled up to their home, I was so delighted to be greeted by their big ‘ol furchildren. Brandie & Travis have made their new house a beautiful home… it was so special to see artwork hanging on the walls from their engagement and framed photos from their wedding.
