Happy Friday! It's still freezing here in Ohio with single digit temperatures so I am loving sharing some of my spring sessions from 2017! It is helping me remember warmer days are right around the corner... kind of. Just a few more months!
Today I am sharing the Hessel family session! You guys... this family means so much to me. For a long while there was a piece of my heart that was missing. Many of you know my neighbor passed away a few years ago, a couple of months after I got married. She wasn't just a neighbor though. She was like a grandmother to me. We were extremely close. I was devastated, to say the least. I did not get to say goodbye to her - I was too busy, to selfish to see her. I thought she'd come home... but then she did go *home* and I struggled with that for so long. I felt her everywhere, I saw her in everything.
Earlier last year I was sitting at work and I felt her leave me. It was the strangest thing. I was in the middle of a workday sitting at my desk. I told my mom and my husband, knowing full-well that I sounded like a crazy person: Ruth had left me. The next day, my mom told me the house had finally sold.
"I told you she left," Was the text I sent back.
This family I'm sharing with you today are my mom's new neighbors. Jess' presence has brought me so much peace. She is kind, beautiful, and has a heart of pure gold. I know she was sent and is meant to be here and I know I have gained a lifelong friend. I cannot wait to spend more time with her, just like I did with Ruth. I am so happy my mom has her next door. I cried bittersweet tears when I got home from their family session and began looking through these photos. I am so thankful to God. We lost Ruth, but we gained Jess, and my heart is full again. I know Ruth is smiling down, holding her beagles, and is so happy for all of us.
Now, when I pull up to mom's house and look at the house next door, I don't hurt like I did for so long. Those walls are full of love and life and laughter again and that makes me so happy. It would make Ruth so happy.
For their family session, we met in Canal Winchester and we let the kids run and play and just have fun! That's how I roll with family sessions! haha They are so sweet and so darn cute. Some of my favorite moments through are of Jess and Tony. Tony is in the military and was about to leave for several months. Y'all should have seen the way he held her (look at the photos below and you can!) - like it was the first time and the last time, all at once. Tony is home now and we are so glad he is safe and they are all together again!
Jess & Tony, thank you for being such kind hearted people who have filled a giant hole in my heart. We need to get together soon! Here are some of my favorites from their session!
