Happy snopocalypse Friday, friends! Since the weather channels are telling us we are going to get a boat load of snow this evening (Or no snow? What? So confused.), I wanted to share with you my first engagement shoot from 2018 because we had snow!
I met up with Kelly & Vince last year to talk about wedding photography and their plans for the big day. Kelly told me I had actually shot her nephew’s senior pictures, which was so cool because when families come back for photos, it is the biggest compliment for me.
I always ask my couples first if there is a location they have in mind for engagement photos before recommending anything. I want the location to not just be beautiful, but also meaningful. So I ask if there is a location that is important to them or a location that they really like. Kelly emailed me that they’d like to go to Scioto Audubon. This is one of my favorite places to shoot, so it was perfect!
We had actually scheduled their engagement session for this past Saturday, but it was so cold (negative with wind chill), I asked if they’d be willing to move it to Sunday, when it was supposed to be warmer… in the 20s! Thankfully they agreed. I love when my couples decide to do their engagement session in the “off-season” because I absolutely adore winter portraits, especially when there is snow! It was cold, but they happily wandered around with me and the sun even peaked out a bit!
I love these two! They are so down to earth, and so stinkin’ beautiful. They are hilarious and so much fun. I know their wedding is going to be a blast out at Jorgensen farms this spring! I am beyond excited to shoot there for the first time.
And you guys… check out Kelly’s ring! It’s so unique, and so amazing. I am obsessed.
Kelly & Vince, thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer! I can’t wait for April 28th!
