Oh my goodness. How is it the last day of February? I'm getting spring fever! You too??
Today I am sharing Deanna and Sean's wedding! Do you remember their chilly winter engagement session? It was published over on A Paper Proposal!
I have so many wonderful things to say about this incredible couple. My favorite thing about them is that Deanna and Sean have hearts on fire for Jesus, and for each other. They are so sweet, so generous, just absolutely amazing people that I am so happy to now call my friends and not just my clients! I am so honored they chose me to photograph their wedding day.
Last year, Deanna and Sean were anxiously awaiting their big day. Sean is originally from Alaska and Deanna is from here in Ohio, but they met in college down in Florida! I cannot tell you how excited I was for this day to finally arrive for them!
Instead of doing a first look, Deanna and Sean decided to exchange letters before their ceremony, to hold hands, but not see each other. The emotions of this moment said everything that was written in those letters. The intense love these two have was incredible to witness.
The ceremony was held in the breathtaking Ohio Statehouse. The reception followed in the big, open airy Atrium that connects the Statehouse to the Ohio Senate building.
Deanna and Sean had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony at their reception. I had never photographed one of these before and it was so wonderful to see! Deanna wore beautiful traditional dress and was adorned with jewelry as the couple was showered with love from guests. Each moment of the day held so much meaning.
SO many amazing things happened at this wedding, but I laughed really hard when Deanna's sisters and Sean's best man toasted with ACTUAL TOAST and so did the rest of their guests! Such a fun idea if you aren't doing alcohol!
And... y'all know how much I love my anniversary dances! Deanna and Sean surprised the couple at their wedding who had been married the longest with a gorgeous bouquet! This was such a sweet way to honor all those years of love, joy, and even sweat and tears that make a successful, lasting marriage.
Guests waved mini Ohio flags as Deanna carried her Ohio flag and Sean his Alaska flag to their getaway car, which was Sean's amazing old ford truck.
They ended the night with sunset portraits, just the two of them, after the guests had all departed. Sean surprised Deanna with a honeymoon to Ireland!! I wish I could share ALL of their photos, but here are some of my favorites from their wedding day!
