On Wednesdays, we celebrate weddings.
And today we are sharing Savanna and Jake’s wedding with you! You guys… this was a very special wedding for us because this family and this couple have been a part of this growing business’ story and my own personal story for so many years! I have watched Savanna go from a young teenager, to a senior in high school, to a college grad… what a wonderful gift to not only watch her grown into this amazingly beautiful person, but to see her fall in love and photograph her wedding day.
June 11, 2022
This day was perfection.
Savanna and Jake were married at the church she grew up in and that they continue to go to now as husband and wife. They laid the foundation of their marriage in Christ, and we witnessed just how strong their love is.
The flower men kind of stole the beginning of the ceremony though, guys. We giggled a lot as the boys dawned pink bows and passed out roses!
And then Savanna entered the room, and time stood still. Jake didn’t take his eyes off of her as she walked down the aisle.
I thought for sure I would cry all day at this wedding, knowing this family so well… but I didn’t cry at all! The day was so full of *joy* and the details were so perfectly curated for Savanna and Jake.
However, editing always gives me a moment of time for reflection, and that’s when I cried over the reception photos… remembering Sarah’s (another one of our former seniors!) genuinely heartfelt maid of honor speech… She talked about how happy it made her that Jake saw and loved all the things she loved about her best friend. Poor girl… she barely made it through that speech! And as someone who also loves her best friend in this big kind of way, I FELT THAT, SARAH. Best maid of honor speech ever… Hands down! And… I also cried editing the father daughter dance, which was so much FUN! But it was the kind of moment every daughter would love to have captured with their dads. My heart <3
Savanna and Jake have the best of friends and family surrounding and supporting them. Jake danced with his mom while his sister stood alongside and sang a lovely rendition of Sweet Child of Mine. It was all so so so sweet!
And speaking of all this sweetness, the dessert display at this wedding was phenomenal. I mean, get a load of it in the photos below: a watermelon cake?! Yes. Please. Surrounded by cookies and cake pops… Yes, yes, and more yes. I rarely enjoy the desserts at weddings but confess I snagged some as Mauretta and I headed out! How could I not? So good!
Savanna… gosh… You are gorgeous. I’m not sure you realize just how beautiful you are. Thank you and Jake so much for choosing us to capture this big day.
And Jake, you mentioned to us that this was Savanna’s day… And that’s the husband energy we are here for!! You’re already killing it! But in all seriousness, it was equally your day too. Like Sarah, we love the way you look at Savanna and we love the way Savanna looks at you too.
It’s clear that your love will last a lifetime. You are going to continue to build an amazing love story! We hope your years together are full of as much joy as was packed into this perfect day. And we hope you love these pictures to remember it by. Here are our favorites!
